I have got into the habit of recording all our rehearsals just in case we come across a moment of genius! I decided to use some of the recordings to make audio and visual sketches with a view to getting some ideas on board in preparation for recording, and creating visuals for our live shows next year.
This is the first sketch I produced; I was paying particular attention to the lyrics regarding heart beats. I wanted the colours to reflect the heart beating and pulsing. I also wanted a visual representation of the sea; hues of blue and green melt into the reds in time to the music. This is something I want our live visuals to reflect.
I also manipulated one of Alex's vocal lines near the start of the song, this is something I will definitely be doing more of by using live samples and a Kaoss Pad during our shows.

We played our first real gig on Saturday night at my new Tea Party event. The Hidden Lane Cafe is such an amazing venue, and Martin kinnaird, Paul McGranaghan and Shambles miller were all fantastic. For us it was a fairly mixed bag, I had some 'issues' with new equipment and, lets be honest, singing. In my defence I have had a cold, but no excuses, we were patchy and it was all my fault. Alex on the other hand was wonderful as always, as can be witnessed on this video.

here is Alex performing "The Indie Queens Are Waiting" with Dan Mangan at The Captains Rest in Glasgow on the 12/10/2010. It was an incredible gig anyway, this was the icing on the cake!!

Our first gig on the 22/9/2010 as part of a Sufjan Stevens tribute. Among the other amazing artists paying tribute to the great man were Kill The Waves, Esperi, Randolphs Leap and the magnificent Open Swimmer. We only had 2 rehearsals and Alex and Louise were absolutely dynamaite.
